grace quotes

When you come to religion, you come to a place. When you come to Jesus Christ, you come to a person.

God…doesn’t intend to help us live the Christian life. Immaturity considers the Lord Jesus a Helper. Maturity knows Him to be life itself.

The believer does not have to beg for help. He does have to thankfully appropriate that which is already his in Christ.

There have been a handful of times in my life where I’ve been told, “You show too much grace.” I find myself baffled every time I heard this statement, mostly because I don’t thing showing too much grace is even possible. If I die being known as a guy who “showed too much grace,” that’d be a life well lived for the name of Jesus. One single act of grace could be the tipping point for someone truly understanding the love of Jesus.

God bestows His blessings without discrimination. The followers of Jesus are children of God, and they should manifest the family likeness by doing good to all, even to those who deserve the opposite.

You can never learn that Christ is all you need, until Christ is all you have.

While the law revealed the righteousness of God, it also revealed the unrighteousness of men; but Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law, that he could be the righteousness of God for men.

When I get to Heaven, I’m sure I’ll find out that I was wrong about a great many things, but, by just being in Heaven, I will have been right about the only thing that truly matters.

Faith is not our saviour. It was not faith that was born at Bethlehem and died on Golgotha for us. It was not faith that loved us, and gave itself for us; that bore our sins in its own body on the tree; that died and rose again for our sins. Faith is one thing, the Saviour is another. Faith is one thing, and the cross is another. Let us not confound them, nor ascribe to a poor, imperfect act of man, that which belongs exclusively to the Son of the Living God.

We are forgiven, that we may be like Him who forgives us.
